Nora Valencia joyfully opens her kitchen and her heart to share with you her love for the regional dishes of Oaxaca and the culture of her homeland. As your host and teacher, Nora skillfully guides you through each step of the way. You will experience true Oaxacan cooking in its natural setting: "From the Market to the Dinner Table".

Nora learned the techniques of traditional Oaxacan cooking from her late grandmother Ofelia. Together, they earned a reputation for the fine breakfast they prepared every morning at La Casa de Mis Recuerdos Bed and Breakfast. Their recipes can be found in regional cookbooks and are enjoyed in restaurants around the city.

Nora is a native Oaxaquena who is always thrilled to share her culture in either her native Spanish or English. Nora´s love of the heritage of her people and her extensive knowledge of the areas surrounding Oaxaca will bring a unique aspect to your Oaxacan experience.

Whether it be choosing the right ingredient for a specific dish being prepared that day or explaining how the artist creates their craft, Nora will transform what usually is a rushed commercial tour into an educational experience not soon to be forgotten.
